Full of craftsmanship, The Lazy Prospector is a celebration of yesteryear, with all the modern conveniences.
Inside, beautifully restored 130-year-old barn wood features, restored Huon pine antique doors, and a rustic charm calm and soothe.
To ensure you have a chance to slow down (we're called the Lazy Prospector after all), and help you recharge for your adventures on the west coast, we've done all we can to make your stay comfortable and memorable.
Nightly rates start at $180. An additional $80 cleaning fee applies to all bookings.
We recommend two to five nights to get the most out of your stay on the west coast. However to keep things fluid, we also offer single night stays.
The Lazy Prospector is designed for a couple - share a plush queen size bed with luxurious linen and block out curtains.
After a day of exploring, and a couple of nights of deep sleep, we know you'll feel refreshed and ready to take on the world.
Our bathroom has a walk-in in shower and a luxurious deep soak bath with your choice of bespoke complimentary Australian native bath salts and Richmond Botanical bath oil.
Our kitchen has been created with simple cabin life in mind. While minimal, it includes a bar fridge with freezer, a small dishwasher, an induction plug-in cooktop, a convection microwave oven, slow cooker, sandwich press, kettle and toaster.
We also have your basic pantry needs covered with ground coffee (and plunger), black and green tea, hot chocolate, salt and pepper, olive oil, sugar and a small selection of herbs and spices. We don't provide milk and suggest this be picked up on route or from the local IGA.
Our huge sofa and a sea of cushions is designed With comfort in mind. Large enough for two adults to stretch out in front of the wood fire heater, it‘s the perfect place to settle in for the night.
Take in the views of Mount Dundas from our private verandah while kicking back on our handmade rustic daybed.
While the west coast itself is remote, The Lazy Prospector sits on the outskirts of Zeehan and enjoys the company of neighbours.
Zeehan is an old mining town with a rich and colourful history. You can find out more by visiting The West Coast Heritage Centre.
Let us help you get ready for your adventure on the west coast!
If you have a question about The Lazy Prospector or about Zeehan and its services, just ask. We look forward to hearing from you.
